Whole Body Cryotherapy FAQ’s
Q: How does it work?
A: The Cryosauna uses gasiform nitrogen to lower the client’s skin surface temperature from normal body temperature to 30-32 degrees in 30 seconds or less and keeps it that way for two-three minutes. The skin reacts to the cold and sends a powerful message to the brain that acts as a stimulant to all regulatory functions of the body. It produces the scanning of all areas that may not be working to their fullest potential.
Q: How do I feel after?
A: During each session endorphins, or the body’s natural “feel good” substance, are released. The buoyant effects from each session last at least six hours.
Q: How does this compare to an ice bath?
A: It doesn’t. It is simply not possible to achieve the same effect with an ice bath. Furthermore, an ice bath is generally an excruciating 12-15 minutes or longer, where, cryotherapy is only 2½ to 3 minutes treatment with a much greater recovery and performance enhancing effect.
Q: Can I catch a cold because of this procedure?
A: Immediate cold impact of the cryosession will raise the internal body temperature up to 104F for a short period of time (around 30-40 sec). This rise has a positive effect on chills and may help to fight the cold.
Q: Has cryotherapy been tested?
A: Researchers in Europe have been developing and refining cryotherapy for more than two decades.
